For God and Country, Craig Smith - Smitty Chaplain Post 379 FORTY & EIGHTER Bonjour de La Société des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux! For the last 10 months, we have dusted off the cobwebs in an attempt to revitalize our organization. After several conversations and focus groups with the membership and individuals at the Grand and Nationale, we are now postured to rise from the ashes like the phoenix and grow. That said, we need you to attend the next promenade on Thursday, 26 April at Post 379 so that you can take part in the vote for our new constitution which was last ratified in 1992. We have worked in great detail with the Grad Avocate to produce a quality document that charts our future growth. If you did not receive a draft in the mail for your review, please reach out to me. Unfortunately, the rumors concerning the closing of Voiture 1601 in Lake Dallas are true. The good news is that instead of turning in their membership cars, a couple of active members have selected us as their new locale. Come out and join us for our next Steak Night on Saturday, 14 April. Proceeds go to our nurses’ scholarships where Mike Reagan is the committee chair.   Remember…our promenades occur on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7pm. The meeting location is at Post 379 unless otherwise specified. If you know of any proactive Legionnaires, send them our way. Hat chasers need not apply. Charlie Mike!
